Missing person FOUND!

I know, I know, you've been trying to procrastinate and I haven't been helping. I see you out there going to www.thatwasdc.blogspot.com two, three, for those of you who are really bored/3rd degree procrastinators sometimes 8 times a day, and there have been no updates, no stories, nothing to laugh at. Well the good news is, I'm back! So you can procrastinate away :)

I left IBM (hooray!) which is perhaps best announced by my sister's blog post, got a job as an assistant Montessori teacher at The Springs in Springfield, VA, and spent a wonderful week at home in tiny but always comforting Alfred, NY. [Note: internet service in Alfred is a bit like cell phone service in the bottom level of an underground parking garage...sometimes it's easier just not to try.]

So I survived my first day with 24 three to six-year-olds and the cute comment of the day was:
"I went to the zoo with my daddy. My mommy didn't come because my little brother would have been scared of the tigers. And the lions might have ate him anyway."

Hopefully many similarly adorable moments to come...

WOW! That is huge! I hope you love your new job--are you upset that the IBM thing didn't work out? I just got a job too. I'm working as a geologist for an investment research company that prepares reports for potential investors on mining companies. So it will be a brand new field for me as well--not so much geology as finance and investment. I went out and bought my first suit! I keekp meaning to start a blog...I will start one soon and email you the URL. I keep sending out these ginormous emails to my family, and I could just start blog with the same amount of effort.

Well, I'm glad you got to spend some time in good ole Alfred, and keep us posted on your new job!
