Wasted weather!
So when I moved to DC, one of my little excitements was the weather. I liked the thought of months of sun and warmth and never having to wear a jacket. I took sweet satisfaction in moving away from piles of snow, blistering winds, and having to wear fleece-lined pants just to survive the walk to the car.
I left my fleece-lined pants at home. It turns out I could really use them when I enter ANY BUILDING IN THE DC AREA! Who knew? These people obviously didn't get the memo that they are cooling public spaces and not walk-in freezers. I am a living, breathing human being. I am not, I repeat NOT, a slab of beef that needs to be preserved for the coming winter.
I went out to lunch with some people this weekend and 10 minutes into the meal I had goosebumps over my entire body and was shivering to the point that my teeth chattering precluded the need for me to chew. Now really, buildings of DC, do you have to be that cold??? It's really nice out. Could you just embrace it?
